After defeating Al Iaquinta in the main event of UFC 223 to capture a vacant lightweight championship – undefeated Russian, Khabib Nurmagamedov
is riding the crest of a wave when it comes to confidence.
And it seems now ‘The Eagle’ is tired of waiting for former champion Conor McGregor to return.
A fight between two of the biggest stars on the roster has become one of the most talked about matchups in the companies history, though with Nurmagomedov’s unfulfilled feud with Tony Ferguson, and McGregor’s boxing venture playing out the pair have yet to get on the same page.
While many have speculated they could meet when the UFC returns to New York in November, judging by a recent post on Nurmagamedov’s social media, the champion seems ready to move on in then division with or without McGregor.
He wrote, “Conor, the game has changed. Now you have to play like a grown-up man, there will no longer be locked buses with security inside and outside, now you have to solve these problems alone.
“And if you do not want it, just say so. Everybody will understand.”
McGregor will be dealing with his legal issues in June – following an attack on a UFC bus that contained a number of high profile fighters, including Khabib. With these issues resolved fans around the world will hope to see the two superstars finally settle their differences in the octagon.
